I dream a lot, and about many different and strange things. Whenever a person I know is in a dream I have, I make it a point to inform them that they were in one of my dreams, and I tell them the details of the dream. I do this in the hopes that it somehow makes sense to them. And so I tell you of a dream. I was in my backroom, my mom and a friend of a friend were washing dishes by a window. The window faced out on a small mountain range. The weather was partly cloudy, it was around 10 in the morning. My aunt was in a corner of the room sorting through a lot of her personal belongings, deciding what to throw out and what to keep. She picked up a book and put it down. I took the book and looked at it. It was a book written by you. I opened up the book and found that it was hollowed out. There were two compartments made by cutting squares in the book’s pages, making it so that you could hide stuff in the book when it was closed. I flipped through it to the end, where the pages were not cut. The book had pictures of different space photographs. The book was apparently about theoretical astrophysics. There was a picture of the Orion Nebula. Overlaid on the photograph was a square composed of four columns and four rows of smaller squares. The text went on to explain that in each of the smaller squares, there was an important astrophysical feature. One of the squares contained the heart of the nebula, and the other subsequent squares contained other important features of different sorts. Apparently, this four by four square could be applied to any astronomical photograph and each smaller square would contain a very important aspect of the photograph. I put the book down and looked up at my mom, doing dishes by the window with the friend of a friend. Superimposed on them was the same four by four square that was in the book. The squares lined up perfectly, where two of the columns contained my mom and the friend. One of the columns held the space between them. The last one held the visible part of the window. I was astonished, and partly confused at what was happening. I looked at my mom, and she had an awestruck expression on her face as she stared outside. I asked her “Do you see a four by four square, too?” But she didn’t. I looked outside and saw something very strange. The entire landscape, the ground, clouds, and mountains, all looked as though they had been drawn by a five year old on a computer painting program. There were all scribbles that fluctuated while still retaining the appearance of mountains, clouds, etc. Down at the base of one of the mountains I could see a small disk. It was the sun. But it looked like something blue was in front of it. It also looked like it was between us and the mountain, which is impossible. But my father pointed up to the sky and said “Look!” There was the actual sun, but there was a big black disk in front of it. The sun was also rising very quickly. Soon, it passed behind a cloud and everything went dark. Then the sun rose a little further up, but it was still black. Then it popped back on. The sun was all bright, and I turned away. But everything, for a fraction of a second, was still dark. I was about to tell everybody about how the time delay of the light reaching us from the sun caused the darkness to remain for a split second, but then I remembered the four by four square I had seen. I told them how I had seen it superimposed on their backs, but they were composed. Then I saw it again, this time it appeared like it was in the hand of my mom. I reached over and grabbed it. It was like something metal. On it were a series of numbers which could be read upside down and still make sense. It was something along the lines of 9996009260. I was holding it up in front of everybody, but they couldn’t see it. I was waving it around and still nothing. I explained to them what your book said about these squares, but still they were kind of confused. I held it out to my mom, and she reached out for it. To her, it was like she was grabbing air, but she really grabbed it. She took it away from me and held it in front of her. Of course, nobody but me could see this series of squares. Then she said “Well, I think I see something.” She then went on to poke her finger through one of the smaller squares. There was a loud honk noise, like a car horn. Everybody heard this noise. And with that the dream ended. I figured I should inform you, since you were indirectly related to this dream in some way. Quite possibly one of your books could have influenced the sun going out and coming back on, or maybe a number of various movies I have watched in the past featuring eclipses could have caused it to appear in the dream. Nevertheless, I hope that this made more sense to you than it did to me.
