For “Mark Reads” members: how to get your Young Wizards series discount!

YW_NME_and_Interim_Errantry_Cover_Composite

Hi there!

What we’ve got for you:

A set of deep discounts on almost all the Young Wizards novels and short stories that Mark Oshiro will be reading for Mark Reads.

Starting on March 22, Mark will be reading the complete series of Young Wizards books in their New Millennium Editions, the newest YW book Games Wizards Play, and all the interstitial YW shorter works (meaning the contents of Interim Errantry and possibly a couple of other short YW works as well — we’re checking up on this. )

Games Wizards Play is presently available only from its US publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, in print and ebook* formats, so readers will have to acquire those from retailers such as Amazon. (Click here for a much fuller list of links including all the major retailers.) But we’re offering you a big price break on all the other books Mark will be reading.

The 9-volume box set of the New Millennium Edition of the YW series normally sells at the Ebooks Direct store for USD $39.99. But as a Mark Reads reader, you are eligible to take 66% off the usual price… which drops the cost of the nine-book set to $13.60. In the same discount bundle, you also get a 66% discount on the Interim Errantry ebook,** dropping its price to $3.40.

This discount isn’t intended for the general public, so please do not repost the following information anywhere except on the Mark Reads website and forums, okay? (And the same goes for this page’s URL. It’s been blocked from indexing on Google and other search engines, to keep the discount exclusive to MR readers only.) We would also ask you please not to pass your download links to other Mark Reads readers or post them elsewhere online.

How to get your 66% discount:

  • Use each product’s dropdown to choose your preferred ebook reader / file type. For the NME box set we have 12 e-reader variants available: Kindle | Kindle DX | Kindle Fire | Kindle Paperwhite | B&N Nook | B&N Nook Color | B&N Nook HD+ |  iPad / iPad 2 | iPad 3 | Sony Reader | Sony Reader 300 | Sony Reader 900. (Fewer are available for Interim Errantry, as there hasn’t been demand.)
  • Click on “Add Bundle to Cart” to put the item in your shopping cart.
  • Continue through the checkout. (If you like, click here for a walkthrough of how our checkout works.) European customers: please note that due to last year’s change in EU law, the store will charge you the level of VAT that applies for digital purchases in your country.)

Once checkout is completed, the Ebooks Direct store will email you to confirm your purchase and then send you a link which will take you to a page with the links to download your files. Please make sure that your email account is whitelisted to allow emails from ebooksdirect.dianeduane.com: otherwise we can’t send you your links.

Also please note that you need to download your files within 3 days of the time of purchase. If you aren’t able to download your ebooks within that time, just email us at diane.duane.ebooksdirect@gmail.com and we’ll happily extend your download period. Also, if there’s some other problem with your order — for example, if the discount fails to be applied correctly (this sometimes happens when the store gets busy) — please email us at the same address and we’ll get you sorted out as quickly as possible.

DD is really excited about embarking on this journey with Mark and his readers, and she hopes this discount will be helpful to everybody who wants to come along for the ride.

Thanks for your interest!

*GWP will be available from Amazon.com in an International Edition ebook in early April. UK readers can get the US ebook via Amazon.co.uk.

**Interim Errantry is also available as a paperback via Amazon.com, but unfortunately we’re not able to discount that for MR readers only. Sorry about that.

I already own my own copy of these, but this is an awesome thing to have done for the marks reads community. Thanks!

I’m so excited for this! I’ve been following Mark Reads/Watches for a few years and really enjoy seeing him engage with things, and I read the first… three, I think? YW books as a tween/early teen back in the mid-80s and remember them fondly, and I just think this is gonna be a great fit.

I think so too. And I’m very buzzed. 🙂

I’m really looking forward to getting caught up with the series! I’ll be a lot of fun doing so with the Mark Reads crowd.

Thank so much for this! Is there any way I could get hard copies? I don’t have an e-reader. If not, I totally understand, and this is still an amazing gift!

Unfortunately for a number of reasons involving agreements with our US publisher, we can’t go to hard copy on the NMEs at this time.

That said, not having an e-reader doesn’t have to stop you. If you have a desktop or laptop computer you can read the NMEs using standalone programs like Calibre, or apps like the Kindle for PC app or BlueFire Reader. You can even read our ebooks on smartphones using a number of different apps. Check the “How to get our files into our e-reader” link in the left-hand column at ebooksdirect.co: it lists and links to a number of these helper apps.

Same question as KinneretKatz, is this only available in ebook format?

For the time being, yes.

Um, I’ve followed the link, but there’s no bundle option at the bottom of the page. I don’t know if this is because of my internet connection or if the offer ended or something (I only just found the link in Mark’s latest review). If it is my internet, then just ignore me. I’ll get it when I visit a friend tomorrow.

In other news, I remember, when I was a kid, we had a bundle version of the first three books. I really wish I could have been a wizard.

EDIT: Nevermind! It’s working now. Satellite internet is kinda terrible.
